1. Service description

TellDoug provides a private, tamper-evident pet health record and deterministic cost-audit service. It is designed to act as your personal, append-only ledger for your pets' clinical and financial history.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the United Kingdom, or explicitly accept the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales to use TellDoug.

3. Account

Accounts are limited to one per person. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. TellDoug uses email and password authentication (passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text), with optional OAuth sign-in (Sign in with Google). Sessions are maintained via a secure, httpOnly cookie.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. You shall not attempt to circumvent the append-only cryptographic hashes, tamper with sealed records, or employ automated agents (bots, scrapers) to interact with the platform. TellDoug is for your personal use to manage records that rightfully belong to you.

6. Payment terms

TellDoug offers two tiers: Free (always free with limited AI actions) and Pro (paid subscription). All payments are securely processed by Stripe.

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time via your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

Past any AI allowance, the system silently degrades to manual data entry—it never throws an error or blocks your access. Full data export and account deletion are absolute rights and are never paywalled regardless of your subscription tier.

7. Intellectual property

TellDoug retains all intellectual property rights in the service, code, structure, and design. The data you input (documents, entries, pet profiles) strictly belongs to you. TellDoug claims no intellectual property rights over AI-generated proposals.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TellDoug's liability is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the preceding 12 months. We assume no liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.

The append-only cryptographic record proves only that an entry has not been altered since the moment it was sealed; it makes no guarantees regarding the clinical or financial accuracy of the underlying facts at the time of entry.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination, you retain the ability to securely export your complete JSON archive. Deleting your account will result in the immediate and unrecoverable erasure of all data and files.

10. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes

We reserve the right to modify these terms. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the effective date. For material changes, we will also notify registered users by email.
